The Heat is On
Sorry for the length between updates. Between computer issues, busy schedules, etc, well you understand. I don't know about where you are, but my goodness is it hot here or what? As I think about the physical heat we are enduring, I am reminded of the spiritual heat we are under. First let me rid you of some myths.
When you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior you ARE promised eternity with Him. However, until we get there life is still life. Yes, we have Jesus to help us through it which makes it easier, but that does not mean it is easy. On top of that, society is becoming more and more against Christians and what we stand for, so the heat is on us in different forms no matter what the season outside. Often, during these times, the church becomes shaken, and not in a good way. We let our faith waiver, we are scared to stand up for who we are, and we may even question the fact of whose we are. It is during this time that we need to become stirred. We need to let the Spirit of God stir us to a greater relationship with our God in the midst of trials. Jesus wants us stirred and not shaken!
However, to be this way we must be persistent in prayer, study, and the things of God. We must FOCUS. Just as when we get to hot physically we have to stop and replenish our body with fluids, so must we replenish with the things of the Spirit. Can you imagine the testimonies on in churches across America if we grabbed hold of this? Instead of "the devil has been on my back all week but I barely survived" we would hear " Let me tell you what God has, is, and will do for me and you." My prayer is that you will see Jesus move in the midst of your "heat."
Loving God, Loving People, Loving Life,
Pastor Kevin
